Brooklyn rapper Maassai and New Jersey producer J Words have announced their second H31R album. On November 17, the duo will release HeadSpace via the Ninja Tune imprint Big Dada. Watch the music video for the lead single “Backwards” below.

“Working on the visual for ‘Backwards’ was a great experience and we’re really glad to see our vision come to life after having the concept for so long,” H31R said of their new visual in a statement. “We got to both pay homage to creatives we admire and also create something new with it.”

“Backwards” director Mike Weir added, “When H31R approached me to do the video I was all giddy cause I loved the idea of making a video like the Pharcyde’s ‘Drop.’ I think we’ve made something special and I hope people out there enjoy it.”

Maassai and JWords released their H31R debut, Ve·loc·i·ty, in September 2020. The artists have also worked together on “My Name Jack?,” With the Shifts, and more.
