John Legend Pens Message Ahead of His and Chrissy Teigen’s Anniversary

Ten years ago, John Legend‘s life changed forever.

In August 2013, the singer released what would become his most successful single, “All of Me,” which is dedicated to Chrissy Teigen. And a month later, he married her.

“This is a special season for me and my loved ones,” John wrote on Instagram Aug. 30. “This September, Chrissy and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage and building our family together.”

John—who shares children Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esti, seven months, and Wren, two months, with his wife—continued, “As I look back on 2013, the year we got married, it was also a beautiful time creatively for me. Inspired by the love of my life, I was writing and recording my 4th solo studio album, Love In The Future, declaring it ‘a new year for love.'”

The record was released Aug. 30, 2013. “The most impactful song was the one I sang at our wedding reception: ‘All of Me,'” John wrote. “I had written this song with Toby Gad at his studio in LA, and the first time I sang it for Chrissy, I whispered it in her ear and she cried.”
