‘All American’ Says Goodbye To Kamar De Los Reyes’ Coach Montes

All American gave a proper goodbye to the late Kamar de los Reyes during Monday night’s episode.

The actor, who died in December after a brief battle with cancer, joined the cast in Season 4 as Coastal California’s Coach Montes on the CW series. He appeared in the Season 6 premiere, but that was all he was able to film before his death.

His character has been inexplicably absent from the rest of the season, though the other characters — specifically Cody Christian’s Asher Adams — have referenced him a number of times. While Monday’s episode didn’t bring Coach Montes back in any form, it did wrap the character’s storyline by revealing he’d be taking a job with the NFL.

Asher was able to share a phone call with Coach Montes to say goodbye to his boss and mentor.

The episode also featured a tribute card “in loving memory” of the actor.

All American is currently in its sixth season with five episodes left to go. The series was recently renewed for Season 7.
